"Tis the Season" (Matthew 2:11) And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.
"Tis the Season"
In this season let us stop, put the cards away, refocus, and be filled with great joy for tis the season to lift up Christ not Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or even Discover! Gifts in themselves are wonderful expressions of love; the three wise men brought gift of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to present as they fell down and worshipped the young Child that had been born to be Ruler and Shepherd of God’s people Israel.
Beloved THIS account is where we gather the true heart of wrapped gift-giving so let’s keep the holiday in right perspective. Therefore as we go about our day “wrapping up” the last few gift must haves let us pause and remember that Jesus is the reason for the season! When we channel our Christmas season energy on this thought we have peace and joy in our giving and receive a Holy Ghost reminder if needed that says: “Enough already. You’ve spent enough! Go home and get some rest!”
Tis the season to rejoice in Christ through our worship, breaking bread and making merry as we share LOVE with one another. Let’s celebrate our dear Savior’s birth by spreading the gift of evangelism with even more excitement than we rip off beautiful wrapping paper and bright colored bows. Let’s be found gratefully rejoicing that Emmanuel is with us MORE than we rejoice over the new flat screen! Selah.
