“Keep It Restfully Moving” (Isaiah 30:15) In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength.
Have you ever noticed how ducks appear to just glide along the surface of the water and “not even break a sweat?” It’s actually kind of peaceful to watch but what the eye cannot see is that the duck’s little feet are furiously pedaling beneath the water’s surface. While the ducks appear to be restful and confident, just floating along even, they are actually very actively participating in accomplishing the mission to get to their prescribed destination whether near or far.
There is much for us to learn from the duck. Aside from the lesson of not letting all that we do be so easily observed until the appointed time, another beneficial lesson is to adopt the old saying "Like water off a duck's back.” Ducks actually have a special oil on their feathers that does not let water soak in…this protects them. They don’t let everything penetrate and get to them; they just let it roll right on off. God wants us to not be moved by every spec of negativity today, to shake off offenses. We too have been given protective barriers and daily applications through prayer, faith, and armor that if used properly will allow us to be like the duck and keep it moving.
Prayer: Lord, I believe it is possible that I can enter into Your rest and continue working steadily towards my objectives at the same time. Amen.
