"Finish the Year Strong"
Each year reports show that lots of people make New Year’s resolutions that despite the BEST of intentions usually end up in the amnesia pile (LOL!). We must have goals so what are we to do?! I suggest that we focus DAILY on asking, seeking, and knocking on the heart of the Holy Spirit in 2012. Let’s follow the Apostle Paul’s advice in Philippians 3 to FORGET those things which are behind, get forward focused, and PRESS towards the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Looking at the calendar I see that there are only 10 days left in the year 2011 and I am EXCITED about finishing strong and moving forward. The admonishment however is to effectively move forward eliminating as many things left undone as possible. My challenge today is for us to make these last ten days count like never before. Make the call, finish the project, heck… START the project, reposition yourself, put the plate down and put on the walking shoes, or sign up for the class. Maybe it’s none of these things but you know what it is so do the SOMETHING in Christ that has been whispering your name for the last 355 days!
Let’s take heed from 1 Corinthians 9:24-27 and not become disqualified as God reviews our 2011 "checkup charts.” The devil is a liar! It’s NOT too late so let’s run to the finish line in such a way that we may obtain the prize. Let’s not be excellent at preaching to others and then we, ourselves become disqualified. Selah.
